How to Clean Your House with 15 Minute Cleanups

Now don't get to excited - I'm not about to give you the magic formula to clean your entire house in 15 minutes. No the 15 minute cleanups is a plan I first mention on the homepage of Housecleaning-Tips.com. It's one of the seven house cleaning tips I suggest you do as part of learning how to clean your house.

The 15 minute cleanup plan is a bunch of mini house cleaning checklists with tasks you can complete in 15 minutes.

Prior to using these I would have frustrating moments where I knew there was work to be done - I could see there was work to be done, but just did not know where to start, or what to leave for another time.

I hated this feeling - I wasted time and even though I would finally pick a chore, it never felt like - okay, that's done - what's next.

It's weird what a simple 15 minute cleaning checklist can do for you. I have 7 of them, just for those frustrating moments or for those moments when I have a few minutes to spare. There's no stopping to think, "Where should I start?" or "What should I do first?" - Just grab a list, start a timer and get to work. Fifteen minutes later I'm done and I put a check next to the completed cleaning tasks.

    • Clear kitchen counters of clutter
    • Sweep the kitchen floor
    • Empty dishwasher if necessary.

    • Clean bathroom mirror and sink.
    • Sweep the bathroom floor.

Don't judge me - I'm still practicing 😊.

Here are some tips to remember when making your own 15 minutes cleanups plan:

Tip 1. You can have as many of these mini house cleaning checklists as you want. Remember, no more than two or three tasks per list. You must be able to finish the list in 15 minutes or less.

Tip 2. Let each list contain tasks that are in one space or room. This is to avoid moving from one end of your home to the next. This would be a time waster and you only have 15 minutes.
